How to Care for Your Blue Ombre Nails

The first thing you should do is keep your nails as dry as possible. This means that you should not get them wet for at least 24 hours after you have them done. That includes washing your hands and showering. After that, you should minimize the amount of water you expose them to by wearing gloves when doing dishes and washing your hands only when necessary. If you are going to wash your hands, make sure to dry them thoroughly afterward before touching your nails—even if it’s just to re-apply nail polish.

If you need to moisturize your hands or cuticles, try putting on a thin layer of lotion and then immediately wiping it off with a paper towel or napkin instead of rubbing it in—that way, the oils won’t be absorbed into the polish on your nails and make them peel or chip more easily.

If one or two nails start chipping but the rest are still intact, it’s okay to file them down and repaint those particular ones without removing all the polish from all the others first–just be careful when filing not to accidentally scratch up any part of the skin around where they were previously painted.”
